Looks Like The New Ban Procedure Has Rolled In
« on: February 21, 2005, 05:51:00 PM »

Well, this is fucking gay ass motherfucking bullshit. Get this: I've been signing on live every weekend ever since H2 ame out. I've been using the same account since.

I have a SmartXX chip, 160 gig HDD, and a Samsung SD-616T. I've put money into my XBox obviously. Anyonew, HDD has ALWAYS been locked. I choose MS original from the BIOS list in my SmartXX OS and that's how I run Live. I'm a god damn level 18 in Halo 2 and I've put many hours into it. THi sis rediculous. I haven't run EvoX in over 2 weeks, nor any other BIOS. Why FUCKING BAN ME if I don't use it to FUCKING CHEAT. God damn mother fuckers. How could they ban me. My friend runs his BIOS OFF of his chip, and hte dambass guy on the hotline is fucking tellingme "you must have a modified chip installed." I say motherfuck him. THis is gay shit. I pay fucking 60 dollars for a year subscription, and I didn't do anything wrong in Live/ No cheating or any shit. I think this is gay and MS can burn in fucking hell for this.

God damn assholes. I'm not getting a new HDD and eeprom to be unbanned. Fuck them. I didn't use shit to cheat, or even log in with my X2 BIOS running EVER. FUCK!!!

The chip has nothing to do with it. The SmartXX is absolutely remarkable. Now that I think of it, I think the marriage theory is true, but they jsut take along time to ban you. I'm sure they put your box in a special list and constantly check you. They could probably find a way to access your crap if you ever are connected to the internet while using your modded XBox.

My XBox was bought USED, so I bet he used Live with a stock HDD. When I got it I modded it, then I got banned 4 months later. Weird, but I think right around now is their final stage of the "marriage" banning system, we just theorized it before they did it. Now that I think of it, we probably gave them the idea.

Gotta save up for a new box now.

That's why I have everything including my dashboard on F:/, MS can't scan that as it really isn't there when running the original bios.

What I think is hapening, from another thread
QUOTE
I highly highly doubt MS is scanning everyones drives for files... this would take forever to log on.
If anything they are getting everyones HD model #s (like they do for flagged GTs) because there are limited stock HD models any that do no match get banned.

I would not worry unless this became rampid like 10/16 and 11/2 (when they implimented marriage theory)

If MS does start to do this the only solutions would be dual drives (one large & stock, or a Live-only Xbox)

I agree that scanning C only would not take long.  I'm also not "buying into" this thread that MS has started a new ban wave.

I'm just saying that IF MS did start a new method of banning then it is likely they would just look at HD model #s cause that would be the easiest for them to check (since they are already getting HD serial) and easy to ban from.

Over Xmas I got banned when a friend with a flagged GT logged onto my Xbox with a large drive.  I had all Apps/Games everything on F:, therefore they did not find anything on my C: and if they were scanning they would have had to of looked for gamesaves on E:, which is unlikely.

How far would you have to be on live for M$ to check your HD?

Would it take a few sessions?

I went on the live reg screen and got to enter gametag for new account last week when things were still on my C:/ drive.

I'm buying a starter pack this weekend, do you think I'm now banned or will be soon before I even have an account?

I bloody hope not, I went to all the effort this week to make my xbox live ready. Oh and M$ have been scanning HD serials for years but haven't done anything about it. They know exactly who has an upgraded HD.

However I don't think it would be a way of banning because you arn't doing anything wrong if you have a bigger HD. Xbe files are the things M$ don't want you running.

Sure banning everybody who has a different HD would get most modders, but what about the people who have had repairs or the people who get a new HD from M$ breaching the marriage theory or even serial anomylies or errors or a new set of HD that are released?

I'm not convinced myself.
