Not sure if this will work for everyone but it worked for me. I logged into xbox live a long time ago and i got the whole message that my xbox had been modded and could not connect to xbox live. I tried and tried for several months and couldnt get it to work so I called xbox live and had them cancel my account and i then deleted it off my xbox, so now my xbox is showing that I have no xbox live account on it. I then took and made sure nothing out of the ordinary was in the c and e drive, I did this by upgrading hard drive and saving all new stuff to f drive. I still have the modded dash in the c drive but thats it. I then tried signing up for a new account on live but it wouldnt let me. So I went to one of my freinds that has a none modded xbox and set up an account. I then went home and used the account recovery and it let me log on and everything. It has been about a month or so and I have not had a single problem yet. So this may work for getting unbanned. Just cancel your account and delete it and make sure, I thnk mostly the e partition is cleared from any junk, sign up for a new account on a good xbox then use the account recovery to work. Just remember to never log into live while your chip is on. Just thought I would post this, maybe it will help others out and save you some money, only downfall is that you have to use a new gamertag.
