Xbox Banning

Hey guys, my xbox got banned. My question is I was reading all the thoughts on how these xbox's were getting banned but my question is do you think they could be banning the network adapter's MAC address. In theory this is logical because if you change hard drives, eeproms or whatever else, as long as the mobo is still the same the xbox would still in theory be banned.

Just a thought.
