Maybe the fuckers who built the site should not have opted to have a larger font.

I am just helping people who can't see very well.

Changing the mac address has nothing to do with bann.

I have recovered and been playing from 1 bann and only 1 bann that happend a few weeks ago when I took the live update.

Do you think M$ would be so stupid, that they would us a user changeable setting to secure there XBL system.  The MAC address that you change is for resolving network issuses.  The real MAC address is embeded in the NIC and is not easily changeable.

But hey I'm a Dumb Ass

and how long have you been up and running before you claimed to have the end all cure?
I'm guessing...one hour.

My money is on you gettin banned again within the next 24 hours.

The real MAC address is very easy to change.... It is within the EEPROM.  Configmagic brings the unbanned MAC address with the unbanned eeprom.
The MSDASHBOARD then spoofs the real MAC address to solve the network problem that gets created by running two identical MAC addresses.

MC you really are a DUMB A$$

But the Guy who's got the "End All" answer says the MAC is in the EEPROM.

So Logic should tell you that if you change the eeprom you re-program you MAC.

And as far as it being easy.  I dont think Changing the MAC in the Dash is the same as Changing the eeprom.  MS did not make eeprom editing part of the xbox dash.

The two guys who are saying they know everything don't even aggree.

So once again I say the MAC address that you are changing in the dash has nothing to do with Banns

okay,

i got banned with the new live banning (never had my chip on).  I switched my eeprom and played for about a day before being banned again.  What do I need to do differently to make this work?

Once again I say MC is a DUMB ASS (actually DUMB FUCK)

The EEPROM Backup example lists the MAC address earlier in this thread.

The EEPROM Stores a hard MAC address.  The MSDASHBOARD allows you to SPOOF (or create a false software MAC address).  MS did this to help certain users get around some very occasionaly network problems.  GO LOOK IN YOUR NETWORK SETTINGS IN THE DASH and you will see it.  If you change the MAC address using the MSDASH then you definately won't get any problems because it is MS's program.  It is just another part of the fix.

This fix is good...... WHY would it get banned? The servers only know that the new EEPROM matches their test.  To the servers it is a legit box, but if you mess up the unbanned married configuration then you screw up all duplicate EEPROM's.

Hi,

I am really interested in this.  Could you please read my above post and let me know if just changing my MAC address will make this work?  Thanks in advance.

Well I'm assuming it's because of the marriage theory.  I played XBL on my stock xbox system.  I then installed a 200GB hard drive and continued playing XBL for a long time until I got Halo 2 and suddenly I got banned.  So to sum it up - I switched hard drives AFTER I installed and played XBL.  Hope this helps and thanks for the quick replies...

I would like to clear this up as well. This is the way around. When you log into live it doesnt mtch ur damn eeprom to ur hdd key cuz it is all together. It matches your MAC address to your eeprom. This is how you can recover an account to a different xbox and not get banned. If the other way was true you would get banned by doing an account recovery on another box. I tried this theory and have been working fine for 6 days!!!! I tried the hdd key theory and just got banned. Just grab a MAC address that is NOT on your network, because if you get one on your network it will conflict. And paste it in and you should be good to go!!!

Do you understand English?  The network MAC setting has nothing to Do with bann!

If you have network issues then by all means change your MAC settings; but that will in know way get you unbanned.

MAC address = The only way M$ can tell if its the same xbox.

If you change the EEPROM even if the MAC address changes on the eeprom it is still spoofed on the M$ dash hence why it checks that when you log in. If this is found its a BAN. This is why you are able to recover your account to another box. Because when you recover it to another box it is a totally new eeprom and mac address.

So loading a new eeprom only will make it seem like a new mac address until it searches the spoofed one. So loading a new mac address onto the m$ dash will in turn make the servers think its just another xbox.

DAMN MC was that so hard to comprehend? Or is your 13 yr old brain not that developed

You can change the MAC address in the dash to anything you want, stupid!
It has nothing to do with banns.  You change it becuase you are having network issues not becuase you are banned.

MC WILL YOU GET THROUGH YOU HEAD THAT THERE ARE 2 MAC ADDRESSES ON YOUR MACHINE.  ONE IS SUPPOSED TO BE LOCKED AND THE OTHER MODIFYABLE.  THE ONE THAT IS SUPPOSED TO BE LOCKED (GOVERNED BY THE EEPROM) IS PROBRABLY VERY USABLE AS A SECURITY MEASURE SINCE MS GENERATED IT AND KNOWS IT.
