I currently am running a softmodded xbox that I disable whenever I want to go on live. I will soon be moving to a xenium ice and an upgraded hard drive. I know because of the marraige theory I cannot simply upgrade my hard drive because the serial number would be different than the one in m$'s database.
Here are some options I have...
1. If it is possible, change the serial of my new hard drive to match the old one so m$ would never know the difference.
2. Delete my online profile and recover it on a friends xbox (would this change m$'s database of serials and eeproms so that the old one for my gamertag was deleted?) then change the hard drive and recover it on mine hoping there would be no record of my old hard drive's serial number on m$'s database.
3. Buy an unused eeprom, change the hard drive, replace the eeprom and recover my account. Both the eeprom and serial number would be different making it look like a new console to m$ (I think)
To me the last seems like the safest solution, but I do not know too much about this stuff. Please leave some input to what I could/should do in order to keep my account after upgrading my hard drive.
