it was brought up some where in these banning topics, if a dip switch can handle the voltage mayber drop a 12-16 terminal dip switch to cut off the lpc to the chip completly as well along with the HDD switch, as some stated with an X3 that they were running xbox with chip off but in the middle of playing noticed the led indicator light up as if the chip was on, i agree to as we find ways around M$ equally is thinking ahead, this is just one big game of chess it seems to me

NEVER did an account recovery to get the account on the new HDD, never tried to install a new account on live or anything of the sort.

Performed external HDD mod to move HDD outside to a removeabe rack. Place OEM drive and 120GB drive into disk trays for the rack.

Now I basically just swap between my media center drive and my oem drive. I've been on live for a couple of days now without any sort of banning. Hopefully it will hold up since it basically makes the box back to retail. It just takes a few seconds to shut down and swap drives.

That's the best solution I could come up with. Of course, once I bought the round ATA cable (originally used the oem cable, but it blocked to much airflow) and power extension, plus the HDD racks and all the tools I needed I was pushing 100 bucks anyway. Oh well, it was fun

Best solution for me? i got a second hand xbox for 80$ no more worries in the future, no swapping hdd as crazy.

I also built a two HDD Xbox, with the regular HDD in the box, and the larger one in a rack outside the box. Had to make a three-device IDE-cable, and a powerswitch to choose the HDD.

I only got live two weeks ago, along with Halo 2, not banned so far.

Do u guys know where i can buy ide cable and the connectors to make my own cables?? I know u can online but does like a compusa or another computer supply store carry these items?

You can get a refurb's box for $99 I think, and it has a 90 warranty form M$, which isnt a bad deal, a friend of mine traded in a broken one, and got $30 which he used to buy a refurb'd one. Not a bad deal
