I've been playing live for almost 3 months now with my modded box (details below).  today I got banned when I tried to play halo 2.

the only difference between my box and a stock box are
smartxx v2 and
emulator saves and xbmc saves

the HDD has NEVER been changed.
the box has NEVER been banned before.
I have NEVER attempted to logon using a hacked bios.

moral of the story:
keep your software on the F: or G: drive, and buy lots of eeproms (just in case).

I'm trading free 2 month trials for eeproms if anyone is interested.  i'll even trade 2 or 3 trials for one eeprom.

version: v1.0
kernel: 4034
dash: 5961
hdd: stock WD 8gb
chip: smartxx v2 pinheader
other mods: NONE
saves: retail games, NO FRENCH H2, xbmc, xboy advance, xsnes9x

just read the main page.  i believe that theory is ture but i believe that they are ALSO scanning the LPC bus.  there's no way the marriage theory can be ENTIRELY true because people that have never changed hard drives have been banned.

oh yeah, also, port 3074 was filtered on my router while the chip was on, so there's no way XBL got through while the chip was on.

hmm, never heard of that, but the bios blocks xbl anyway.  i'm really thinking gamesave scanning or lpc scanning (as evidenced by the "x3 backup bios while on live" story)

smartxx v2 man, chip disabling is controlled via menu.  i think that it's lpc scanning... look at the guy with the x3 that switched to backup while playing.

umm, neither does the xenium.  basically, if you choose retail bios, it reboots and the chip then ignores the d0 for that one boot.  it's simple, and much better looking than a switch bank.

i heard about the lpc scanning, but just to notify people i'm pretty sure that it would be with newer modchips, i played halo all the time with an x2.2 lite+ (haven't been on since the update) and never had any problems, i heard that with x3 though it does go into backup mode or the light flashes or something
