Account Permanently Cancelled

Just popped Halo 2 into my new Crystal and was unable to connect to Live - although it passed the diagnostics.  It kepy saying there was a technical fault and to try later.

Checked my email later tonight to find an email from MS:

"This email is to notify you that your Xbox Live account has been permanently cancelled due to violations of the Xbox Live Terms of Use and Code of Conduct."

The email appears to have been sent just before I tried the game - but as I hardly ever play on Live it's a spooky co-incidence.  I do have a modded box but I haven't used that on Live for weeks.

Guess I'll have to give customer support a call and ask them what I'm supposed to have done.

Does this mean that my Crystal is now banned?  It's entirely stock except that I used the MA gamesave to switch it from PAL to NTSC video systems - then removed all related files.
