Sorry, well I guess I'm not part of "WE" apparently.  Co-worker of mine today called MS b/c he got banned the other day and they (MS) say its a Lifetime Ban.  So I am assuming no matter IF you FIX your modded box, your personal information is on file as "BAD" and you can no longer sign up for a new account with the same personal information.


So back to tthe original question......

any ideas?

someone needs to post the terms and conditions of XBL.  I'll be the 1st to admit that using a modded box, regardless of what you are doing with the mods, on the XBL service, IS illegal, or more accurately, against the EULA (Terms) of XBL, and MS sadly has every right to ban people from their service.

Read the EULA and you'll understand my position.

I totally agree it sux though.

When MS bans a box they don't ban the account. You can still use the account with a different box (or the same one with a new EEPROM). The only way to get your account banned is by cheating or being a massively abusive player. A lot of people seem to think that when their XBox is banned it means their GT is banned and disabled too and that isn't how it works.

Someone showed an extract from the T&C stating that M$ have all rights to legally access your hd and view anything on it, for security reasons. Someone else said that they ban your system when it is modified to stop people cheating. Not sure what I believe of this, but it certainly does suck.

M$ will be quite proud of their achievements with this update, and will be working on more and more ways to f*ck the people with mods over. Only guaranteed solution is to buy another XB, and have two. I shall, however, keep my opinions of people who do this to myself.

Your account is not affected, so when you get a new XB, there is no possible grounds for M$ banning you. If you're so worried, why not just buy a new GT? You must have a lot of money to be willing to spend it on an extra box.

i remember some1 posted a chat convo with MSN ppl, and the msn person said: if u get another xbox and the same gamertag, it will work, because only the xbox is banned, not the gt.

well this topic isn't about me and my fundage for my addiction to gaming, its about XBL account recovery.  I know it sux u and eveyone else got screwed...but there's always a risk when modding.  Don't pick a fight with me about giving MS more $$$.  Who cares?  If you're pissed...take it up with MS, not me....no sympathy from me....sorry.
