Ok here is my situation...I got live when it came out and at that time I didn't have a mod chip or different harddrive, just a normal xbox. Then last June I got a mod chip and then shortely after got an 80 gig Western digital harddrive. BTW I have never been banned. Luckily I didn't get Halo 2 until today so I've been reading up on the bannings and am wondering what to do. (I've been hesitant on logging into Live for fear of what might happen).
The last time I logged into Xbox live was around 7 pm on November 8th. So like I said for the past couple days I've been reading up on the bannings and trying to figure this out. All I really want to do is play Halo 2 online along with my other games, so could I just cancel my current Xbox live account (since it ends on November 15th anyway) and start a 2 month free trial. That way the gamertag isn't linked to my HD or EEprom.
I am also wondering if MS can scan your harddrive for anything. So if i start the 2 month card and it goes all good I should be just fine right?
What I'm mainly asking is if I get a 2 month card and start it on my Xbox I have( that has an X.B.I.T and 80 gig HDD) and I load up Halo 2, will it scan my harddrive for anything thats foreign, such as evox. Or do they just check my Serial number since Im logging in on a new account.
I have also noticed another very wierd thing, I have my Gamertag linked to my .NET login which means I can check my friends list. I like to check it often for whatever reason and it seems that throughout the day It wont show them on later in the night I click on it and all of my friends come up. I don't know if this has to do with any of this but I just wanted to put it out there.
im sorry if I repeated myself or anything, I just want answers.
