Pre-modded Xbox-live Register

I am asking this because I am about to recieve my pre-modded XBOX in the mail
120GB hdd, Media Center Key Mod Chip

I ask this, if I register my XBOX the day I get it, with the pre-modded hdd (mod chip off of course) will I be banned?  I am under the impression that you only get banned if you mod your hdd after you registered your stock one with xbox live?

can anyone confirm/deny this?

You never know, they could have pre-modded your box and stole your eeprom so when you get on live it will say your banned if someone is using it already or if someone ever was to use it while your using yours, you'll be banned. I never signed up for live untill my box was done modded completely and I play with no problems. I bought my box brand new and did the mods myself so I know the eeprom is safe.
