you might be able to use config magic to change serial and/or model #'s. i can't check it out now because config magic isn't on my hdd. it's on the slayer's disk but i don't feel like transferring it over. too busy putting anime, rvb, and pr0n on it. i'll look into it tomorrow.

Sorry for the newbie question but when switching the eeprom, is this a hardware change (physically get a new eeprom) or software (through config magic)?

How about this: 2 hard drives, one for evoxdash (or whatever you guys use) and the other the original untouched hard drive. Have a 4 connector IDE cable connected to them and put a switch on the power cables, so when you want to use XBLive, you use the original hard drive and when you want to use your evoxdash, use your custom hard drive. Could this work? unsure.gif

if your talking on a box that hasn't touched live yet, probably.  next issue is if they are doing a check on the lpc.  so far that theory isnt popular.  so i'd just say you "should" be.

what M$ is doing isnt really illegal. If you read your user agreement it says you are buying a lease to your xbox, so you dont actually own the xbox you payed for, M$ does, they are just letting you use it. lol.

Regardless of whether M$ own my xbox or not I know that here in the UK I have the rights to privacy of my private information, I'm pretty sure that this would include most information stored on an xbox hardrive.
I have not given M$ the right to scan to see what games I own etc. so by scanning the hard disk for all files indiscriminately I would have a pretty stong case for legal action, I believe in the UK only the appropriate law authority (police etc.) could scan my drive IF they had good evidence I was commiting a criminal act (a huge grey area as far as modding is concerned).
