I am not yet banned, however, my gamertag has been banned before.

Originally I had v1.1 xbox with an X2 lite chip in it. I logged onto live once when i was drunk with the modchip banned, needless to say, I got banned.

After that I purchased a new Xbox (v1.4), and moved my same gamertag from the original Xbox to this new one. The newer Xbox IS modified with an X2.6. It was not modified until after it had already been on live for several months. I just recently modified it. I have played Halo 2 multiple times a day since its release, and have not been banned. I have the original HD in the Xbox, with the F: created. I have no other dashes on my C: besides the MS dash. I unplug the ethernet from the back every time I am about to turn the mod chip on, and have yet to have any problems.

If you have any other questions, let me know. I hope this helps someone figure out what MS is doing.

Ok......Here is what I found so far.

I have a xbox 1.0 with a 120GB Maxtor, X2.2 with 4981(live blocker) using avalaunch with C: clean and In E: i have a extra Movies folder with Divx and Porn..... I modded my box in July 2003....I was on Live since lauch and cancelled November 2003 after the mod...and HDD change. And i have been back and forth on live woth 2 month free trials ever since. I have never been banned.

Now.....I have been playing Halo 2 Since lauch on Live and have not been banned either.

So i am here to confirm that if you have an older box with a modded locked HD.....and you have never been banned that you can go on live just fine.

After all the readings that I have done.....I am 99% sure that the people that got banned after unbanning with just a clean EEPROM got banned again because Now......HD serials are married with EEPROM. And it is safe to assume that it is one of the updates in the past 6month that actually made this possible. What we need to know is that if MS marries EEPROMS and HDD of the factory.....which I dont think so.

One thing is for sure. When ever you log on LIVE you HD and EEPROm get married and none of them should be ever changed again. What I suggest to the the people with bigger hardrives is to change the HD and EEPROM and KEEP A CLEAN C & E.
Try to get and older EEPROM. And you should be Fine. If you still get banned then this either means that the EEPROM was a newer one and might have been married at the Factory or you transfered a Hacked save file.

PS. Dont forget to get rid of everything that is not supporsed to be there in C E and Cache. Yes that includes your hacked saves and your downloaded content which is signed by your old EEPROM , which can be a very good and likely condition to get banned.

Been on Live since it came out. However I've since changed X-Boxes about the time X3 came out (sold my old one with a SMartXXv2 to a friend and he gave me his so I could plop an X3 in) to a v1.2/1.3 that had never touched Live. Picked up Halo 2 at midnight (was playing 10 min later) and have been playing like mad and not even the slighest hint of a ban. My config is as follows.

-X3 Mod with a variety of bioses
-Pin-Header install
-Bios X3 1943 usualy (yea yea I need to update it)
-Had halo 2 french, now deleted, and now have the US one on it (ya know...so we can have an extra Halo 2 box for 16 playa killin).
-Tonz O Gamesaves all accross the board
-C Has Evox and other crap (thinking about moving that to F), E just has saves, screens, etc and F is larger than 137gb so no chance retail should be able to read it
-HD 200GB Segate before it touched Live

Live works fine for me now, all I had to do was sign up for a new accounton my modded/bigger hdd. works fine

Different case here. I bought this xbox from someone on ebay premodded and low and behold when I received it and went to play live with my gamertag it was banned. This was close to a year ago. Flashed eeprom and upgraded to a 80 gig drive at the same time and have been on ever since. Apps, games and emulators all over the place. Been playing Doa ultimate and Halo 2 since release and still not banned.

Disconnect ethernet when ever I play games with chip on (always have)
Auto sign in off
Upgraded western digital 80g drive.

Never had that damn french game. And glad I rented Halo 2 because I think it sux !
Am I missing something about Halo 2 ? It dosnt impress me at all. Been playing Farcry, Call of Duty and Doom3 on a very high end pc at 1600x1200 resolution with a Radeon x800 xt card.
Maybe thats why it dosnt impress me.

I have a 1.6 xbox right now
playing halo 2 on live right now (xblive is installed)

do you think i will get banned by installing a x3, evox, but still using the stock hd?

since the eeprom and hdd are married, my setup still uses my original rom and hdd, and i wont be banned, am i right? (does it matter if you install a mod/evo on stock hd after you get live???)

-was live beta tester so I've had the account for a while
-xbox modded last year a while after I had live
-original xbox died after modding and locking large hard drive - flashed original eeprom backup onto new xbox for hard drive to work.
-removed game saves and files from french game.
-cleared e:\cache and all contents of x,y,z before booting halo 2 retail version
-all dash and apps are on F. The only thing on E that's not legit is the save info for various apps.
-I've been playing every day since halo 2 launch and no probs so far.
