The consensus seems to be, if you have been banned before you can

1) use same GT, an unbanned stock HD, and virgin eeprom
2) use new GT, any unbanned HD, and virgin eeprom

If youve managed to not get banned, make sure u keep chip off when going on live, and also now you have to keep C and E drives completely Stock looking

And lastly if you get the Network error, you are banned.

At least four UK based members here have been banned.

I am not so sure about the C and E drives being clean.  There seems to be quite a few people on here, myself included, that have non stock looking files on their C and E partitions and have not been banned.  The hard drive theory seems sound though.

I still think the 'dirty' HD theory is a red herring

Im willing to bet there are other factors involved that we simply dont see, or havent thought of... I think I got banned because of my C and E drives.  I have been so freakin careful about connecting to live, that this is my educated guess.  Can we ever be sure, of course not. Maybe there is something different on my set up than yours making the C and E drives not matter on yours? Dunno at this point, but I say, If your as paranoid as I was, clean up your C and E drives.  Although If you are getting on live, just dont worry about it and just do what you do laugh.gif

Did you upgrade your HD before or after you first connected to XBL with your current Xbox?
