Will This Allow Me To Unban Myself?
« on: November 09, 2004, 09:47:00 PM »

alright, here's the deal. today I just got banned from XBL, after successfully playing Halo2 on live for a few hours last night. I am positive that my modchip was not on, and I am 90% certain that my XBL account was created AFTER I modded my box, though I did have to format the drive a few times to get everything working properly. However, my C and E partitions were not "clean", as they both contained non-MS files. whatever the reasons for the banning are, here is what I was thinking.

I've got a friend with an xbox who never plans to get on XBL, and is going to let me use his EEPROM.  I plan to use the mechAssault savegame exploit to run evox, and use that to extract the EEPROM.

Once I've got the EEPROM and I've cleaned  up his box, I have two options. I still have my stock HD. I can either just constantly switch between my big HD and the stock HD when I want to play on XBL (though admittedly this will be a pain in the ass without some sort of ATA drive-switching device, like xtender maybe) .

OR I was wondering if I could use a program like XBOXHDM to completely format my large drive and then lock it using the fresh EEPROM. After that, I'd make a new XBL account, and make sure that the HD serial remains the same.

would this work? is the serial of my large HD banned as a result of getting nailed today, or is it just my EEPROM that is banned? if the large HD is banned, it would be safe to use the stock HD + new EEPROM, correct? thoughts and suggestions very much appreciated.
