I figured this may be too important to leave buried in a topic.

For those with the leaked French game, did you make sure to delete your leaked game and the saved games from the HD before playing your retail copy?

There might be a check between your retail copy and the leaked saved games. Of course, this "check" may have been the update all XBox Live users for Halo 2 got when first signing on.

Just something to think about..

But I got banned and I dont even own a copy of Halo 2. I dont think there is any relation to the Halo 2 game and the xbox live bannings. However, it is obvious M$ planned this all along to piss everyone off who modded so they can't enjoy the live of Halo 2. Which is the only reason to own the game. Duh.

well if u had unleashx, that can tell you the folder that it saves all teh files for in. just go to information, and it tell you. all you have to do is delete that folder, and you should be fine

ok ok i will admit it, i had the French version on my 120g hdd, last night when i bought the game (i didnt rip anybody off) i went home to play on the stock hdd, with no halo 2 saves or anything. Could they have found out about me playing it before?

If only i had the patience to wait 23 days. Dammit

The PAL French/PAL UK/NTSC US all use the same TDATA directory so I highly doubt the game saves will be the issue. XBL has no way of determining whether the directory was created using the French version or the US version. Food for thought...

It seems that having the leak by itself doesnt cause this. My friend has the leak on his stock xbox that was put on there w/ the mechassult exploit. He is using live fine right now.

again pleaze post your setup. I am not really interested in the people who are banned set ups, just the poeple with mods who are still making it on live. I have been very careful yet I believe i am still banned.
