Surely They Can't Ban Your Gt

Your gamertag cannot be banned as they would have to cancel your account and possibly refund your money, which they don't want to do.

I have two modded boxes, one that is banned and the other that is not. I have been playing Live on the unbanned box for over 3 weeks now without being banned.

since you did break their term of use they could reserve the right to refund you your money

I have a feeling that my gt was flagged, if not banned. I got a new xbox and tried to do the account retrieval and it kept telling me I was using invalid characters even though I was not. I can still connect to xbox live when I run the little network test so my box is not banned. Well I had one of those 2 month freebies with the option of getting the 12 month charged on my card after it was finished. Well I look at my checking account and saw that it got charged, so I said fuck that and called MS. I gave her my gamer tag and she could not find it. So I gave her my phone number, and she sees it, then she searches for the gamer tag and still can't find it. So she said must be a glitch, although I think she just didn't realize but they put my account somewhere that does not show up properly like the "ban list" and so now I have to get me a new gamer tag and repay the $50. I hope Halo 2 has a 2 month free subscription.

BUT if u put a big hdd in and DONT get banned with the same GT then that means that when ppl who were banned before do change their eeprom,  and new big hdd in the same xbox, m$ must know that is really the same pre-banned xbox...


if u do ever change ur hdd let us know what the results are, as this would be an intersting test

ok, well this is a  new xbox and i have a 200gb hard drive in it, so that aint stock and am on live, have to get a new gamer tag though. I am not even fucking around with that old tag. I am using a different credit card for the new live account and all that, will post results, but I should be ok

Well i'll try the other way, got a brand new xbox, xecutor 2.6 chip, 200gig harddrive and i'm gunna try account recovery.  Will post the results!

Sadly i think u will get banned if u do that, i am 1 of the few who has sucsefully gotton back on live.. 1 of the other guys "miggidy" got banned after trying out his old banned GT on a xbox that he got back on live by doing changing his GT\eeprom\big hdd ... heres his post from http://forums.xbox-s...howtopic=293690          which is a  very very messy thred but there much good info there from when all these bans started.

I logged on a few minutes ago to find out I was banned.

Everything was fine at 3 pm yesterday but I was banned sometime between then and 10 minutes ago.

Interesting though, my xbox was also banned from the new account I had created.

Just to bring ya'll up to date.
I am one of the people who was banned a long time ago. Over a year ago, installed a new eeprom and everything was fine until the 16th of last month.
The day a lot of people were banned. A few days later, I upgrated my Xbox with a new hdd and a new eeprom. But I created a new account and new gamertag.
Everything worked fine for a over a week. So we (we meaning some people in these boards and I) thought this was the fix since everything was fine.
At this point I decided to connect my new upgraded Xbox to my old GT.
And what do you know? I'm banned a day later.....

May be true but I think your oversimplifying the solution or problem. I think they can tell if you've modded your xbox in any way. Even if your right and replacing the eeprom, hdd and GT fixes the connection problem to Live, that doesn't mean other detection methods aren't in the works or just haven't been implimented yet.

The only sure bet solution is to use an unmodded xbox for xbox live IMHO.

M$ could easyly stop all mods from going online... but they dont, they know many of us go on line with CHIP OFF so they know those ppl(us) buy REAL games, so they (m$) comprimise..... so as long as we dont go on live with chip on they dont realy mind ....

Did u realy think untill the new security that m$ thought because our chips were off that we had non-modded xboxs ??? They've always know and always will ..........

Ok, so my HDD and chip didn't turn up before the weekend but i still borrowed another mates stock box and recovered my Gamertag on his xbox.  Been working for 5 days now without a ban.  

I was banned on my modded xbox, so changed eeprom, recovered account, got banned again, now using mates stock xbox.

I didn't want to use my own new xbox for the fact that i have a theory that if you recover your gamertag on a stock xbox, then upgrade the hdd later that will win you a BAN.  

So for now i'm playin on my mates xbox till mine gets modified.  Soon as it's finished and i've recovered my account i will let you know the progress.
