1. Acquire and install a new unbanned HDD.
2. Format the HDD and install the retail MS Dashboard using Slayers 2.6.
3. Acquire and install a new unbanned/unused EEPROM using ConfigMagic.
4. Register a new Xbox Live account using a different GT. (CRITICAL!!!)

Step 1 is okay

Step 2 - I think - it would be better if you just downlaod your original Bios from Xbins and then Flash it.

Step 3 - Correct

Step 4 - Exactly - it's better.

What I did was - I got a new HDD and new unbanned Eeprom (from Zodiiak $10 each) then upgrade HDD - update EEprom - downlaod original biops from Xbins - create new Xbox Live account - and no problems at all.

I got banned because xbox dash tryed to connect while I had the chip on, I pulled the plug but seemly not fast enough. That means my eeprom and hd are banned, but is my gt flagged? I have two gt on the box and they are both pass protected, so how could they know my gt if I did not sign in?

I am planning to swap my xbox with a friend, his is also modded but has the stock HD and has never been on live, therefore his box is not even registered on live. Do you guys think it is safe to use my old GT on this box?

Another quick one: If my GT is flagged and I take it to another modded xbox which is currently not banned, will my flagged GT get my friends box banned?

Thanx

yeah, your flagged account may get your friend's xbox banned.
if you recently got banned, you'll have to follow the steps outlined in the earlier pages.

goodluck!

Hi, I've been banned recently, and I'm going to get a new EEPROM, Hard-Drive and gamer tag, but I also want to have a fully working evox etc.., should I get a bios that can launch evox from the F: partition, so it is hidden, and if so, does anyone know of a bios that can do this AND has xbox live protection built in, I know the x2 4981/4983 has inbuilt Live protection, and the New Evox 8 blah (cnt remember name exatly) can boot evox from F: but does anyone know of a bios that does BOTH, or of a way to change the the x2 4983 so it can boot from f:

Any info would be appreciated,

Regards, Xanium4322

Just make your own with 4981 and xbtool.. Then you can make it just how you want it.

Well said, my friend. Who cares about a modchip between {enemies/friends} when you're buying shrink-wrapped legit copies. The ALX+ R2 is a damn fine modchip.

Well heres a question.  If I want a new gamer tag for live do I have to pay for the subscription over again or can I use the same account.  Like do I have to make a whole new setup I just freaking bought my subscription and I guess I left the chip on.

Same sort of deal happened with me (I have eight months left on my sub).

It is my understanding from the last two days of doing research and posting that you can use the same gamertag on your xbox as long as you get a new hard drive (must be a stock hard drive) and a new, virgin eeprom.  The hard drive must be for an xbox (or at least the same size, contents, etc.) but the eeprom must be virgin to xbox live as well.

Also, I want to know whether or not I could still use xbox live if I still have my chip physically in my xbox but just in 'live safe mode'

My understanding is that you DO NOT need to get a new hard drive.  You only need a new EEPROM and a new GamerTag thing (basically set up a new live account).  This is so since you are banned by your EEPROM not your HHD number.

Well, this is what i'm going to try anyway.  Let me know otherwise please before I have to spend another $10 on a new eeprom

Actually, you are incorrect. In fact, upon connecting to Xbox Live, your EEPROM and HDD are "married." This means, to become unbanned, you will need a new unbanned EEPROM, a new unbanned HDD, and a new GT (unless you intend to install a stock HDD). Reference the first post in this thread for the exact process to become unbanned. Good Luck!

The exciting thing is if this is true then a solution to 'restore' an HD to an XBL virgin would be to low-level format it (which you need special software... like autoclave... to do)

*

so if i do a low level format.

get a new EEPROM.

and get a new GT.

what are the odds of it working.

(how hard is it to use autoclave?)

I have yet to see any success with low-level formatting. It is actually the serial number of your HDD that is banned, so a low-level format would not change anything. Simply, you should get a new HDD. To be certain, you may want to find and ask Gumba, as he was doing some tests with this. Good Luck!

actually i dont think theres nay need at all to 're-virginize" HDs, MS doesnt seem to care if the HDs are used with multiple eeproms, just the eeproms can only be used with 1 HD (MS is scanning for HD changes, not eeprom changes)
