a dumb question - how do you change your gamertag? or don't you? you just set up a new account? if that's the case, why wouldn't m$ register your name/address/cc#, etc w the new tag and banned info?
*

you have to set up a new account

MS doesnt flag addresses or CC numbers (why i dont know, maybe legally they cant blacklist an address like that)

personally i always thought they banned from Live, but made it relatively easy to get back on so we keep paying our subscriptions, lol

What if you replace step 4 with account recovery from your current account? Anyone tried this yet??

If I use configmagic to switch the eeprom, then put in the old hd, run slayers from a dvd to restore my old 10 gigger back to normal, if I put in my 80 gig, I'll still be good for my offline stuff, right?  (I'm just saying my switch will still work and I'll still have my ms dash and unleash)

Hello,
I have moded my XBOX with the Executer 3 CE, installed a new 200 gigs HD. Everything worked great. I had to restore my account with Xbox Live which work for a couples of day. I did not format nor add any files to my new HD prior to restoring my account.
Let me recap:

1) Xbox 1.1
2) XBL account setup prior to modding
3) Modded Xbox
3) Installed new 200 gigs HD
4) Installed Hacked BIOS
5) I did not load any new Dashboard.
6) Restore my XBL account.
7) Played games for  a couple of days
8) Got a message Stating that I had changed my hardware and should send my   xbox for repair.
9) Re-intalled original HD
10) New message "Network Error Cannot connect to XBL" (this is not the exact term but you get the picture) This probably tells me that I am banned?
Is this the way for MS to tell you that you are banned? Can someone tell me if this is correct?
I tested my network and it working fine.

Ok I just bought a very unexpensive Xbox.
Now here is my question.
Can I restore my account with my banned name tag on my new xbox?

As for my modded banned xbox:
Where can I buy a new eeprom?
Do not tell me to take it from the xbox that I just bought, because I would like to test my modded xbox with out going live. I have not been able to load the Evolution X dashboard yet. This is an other problem that I will have to resolve, some time in the futur.
Can someone help me with these three questions.
Sorry about the long post.
Thank very much.

Here is your mistake !!!!
2) XBL account setup prior to modding
You are banned.

You must mod your box before you ever connect it to xbl !
As soon as you set-up your account, XBL record EEPROM and HDD info.

DR. Clouzot,
Thank you, for you help. My even bigger mistake is that before doing the mod I should of research more on the subject. My bad "Live and Learn".
Now about my two other questions, any input? Or should I find where to get that eeprom by myself? Is it tabou to ask this question?
So to try to answer my other question, Before I set a new account with MS Live with the Xbox I have just bought, I should do the modding install a new HD (not the one I was tagged with in first place) and only then go with registering a new account with XBL. Is this correct?
This brings a new question.
I think I have read somewhere in this  thread, that XLB could find the capacity of my new HD and its serial number. Is this correct?
I think if this is true then I would be tagged again.
Please let me know.
Thank you.

OK, I'm working on getting my buddies Xbox unbanned.  I've put in a brand new 120gig HD.  Used Slayer's to restore it to factory with an F: drive, and am going to put a new eeprom on in the next couple of days and plan on registering a brand new XBL account.

I've installed Avalaunch and all my apps to the F: drive only.  The problem is, Avalaunch, MameOX and other apps keep writing files to the E:\TDATA folder.  Is this something that's going to get the box banned again, or do I not need to worry about it.  If it is something to worry about, how do I get those apps to quit shitting on my stealth install?

I've searched the docs and the forums for Avalaunch and MameOX with no luck.

Sorry if this has already been covered.

I have a v1.3 or 1.4 box... (i think it's a 1.3)

Running an X-Bit chip, 350GB HDD as MOD.

I need a new/neverused eeprom... I already have a new 12gb hd...

E-mail me if you have one i can get from you...

If it works out good, i will get 2+ more eeproms just as a safety, if i get banned again...

I got banned because i let my friend borrow my box and he went online with it...
And after i checked it, He coppied my account from the live HDD to the modded HDD to play some game i loaded from the internet... His excuse was, I wanted to play it so bad.... SMACK, DAMN KIDS...

He did this after i gave him a lecture for about an hour, what he can and cannot do on each HDD and how to power the box to Orriginal/Live and MOD chip Bois...

I was banned(I'm a stoner so I can't remember if it was b/c I tried to go online with my upgraded hdd or there was something on my previously softmodded stock hdd  anyway hopefully shouldn't matter why). I then took the hdd I was banned on (stock) reformatted using slayers back to the original M$ dash, changed eeprom registered new GT and I was banned agian, in the interim I had been changing eeproms to install an upgraded hdd for a freind but I never went online until my original eeprom was back on the xbox. I don't cheat on live in any way shape or form I think that it defeats the purpose.  Next time I changed the eeprom I made sure to keep my upgraded hdd on the banned eeprom and I kept the stock hdd on an unbanned eeprom. I was promptly banned(which after reading this forum I understand why,. I just can't figure out why I was banned in the first place.). I was using an x3ce on a v1.0 always disabled for online play and xbl blocking option on, I would switch between evox 2.6 bios and x3 3294 occasionally. What exactly should I do to prevent being banned again, I have multiple stock hdd that have unfortunatly already been online. I read the initial instructions on how to prevent banning but I figured that reformatting and new GT would have done the trick the first time I changed my eeprom. And I'm sorry if an answer to my problem has already been posted, I'm trying right now to read all of the posts in this thread as we speak but there is quite a few of them. Any explanation would be appreciated.

Ok so i have a brand new xbox soft modded running evox 3095 and a 160gb WD. The xbox has never been online, the question i have if i sign online can MS detect my hard drive/softmodd and will they ban me? If i just get a new gamer tag will it be ok? and IN evox I can load the stock bios, should i start the game through this to not get banned or can i go from evox?
