So now heres something I noticed.  Before I was banned my IP for the xbox was 192.168.0.102 After I was banned it automatically changed itself to 192.168.0.100 Now I think when you get banned that xbox does something to our eeprom to make it change the ip address.  After I installed a new hard drive the ip address was still .100 but after the new eeprom was installed I got .102 back as the ip address and I didnt change anything else.  Now I was wondering if theres some way to look at what is inside the eeprom to see if they "Tag" that eeprom or change it to make the ip change.  Has anyone looked into this yet?

the new eeprom contains a new MAC address for the network card, on the network it appears to be an entirely different device so your router assigned it a new IP address

Good method here, tried it and it has worked for 4 days now.  I skipped the last step because I wanted to use my old gamertag, so I got a stock hard drive and used it.  Thanks alot for everyone's help.

About flagged gamertags.

I know you say you cannot use the same one but what about getting a new one with a similar GT, for example if you had J1mB0B that was flagged then got a new one called Jimbob 69 or Jimbob Overlord ?  would that be o.k or would it get flagged automaticly because it is similar ?

I have an old stock HDD, but it's been made into a mod hdd, I have my 120 in and I got banned twice in two days (Should have read this thread)  How can I make the old 10 gigger back into a regular MS hdd.

a dumb question - how do you change your gamertag? or don't you? you just set up a new account? if that's the case, why wouldn't m$ register your name/address/cc#, etc w the new tag and banned info?
