Concerning new bannings...
I was banned last week. I hadnt not had a backup AT ALL come near this xbox. NONE. I had not gotten on live at all with the stock drive AT ALL. I just took out old stock drive and put in Western Digital hard drive. I turned of auto login. I had safe bios and stealth install.
I just reflashed my machine using configmagic...
I noticed that the hard drive brand and model was there and the hdd serial number was there and stayed the same even after I reflashed. During the process of reflashing, that is the only thing that did not change. The mac address DID change.
So, to me and through my experience, I think the reason I was banned is because they detected I had a different hard drive and banned my xbox serial and possibly my mac address.
Now yesterday, I just switched back to my stock hard drive without doing anything else. I got the xbox live not found message when it tried to connect, like the network connection was blocked. I also had the same XYZ codes that others have got. The 08A instead of 0A8 on the Y code.
After reflashing, iF I go back on with this larger hard drive again, they will eventually ban me again when they pull back my eeprom or do some sort of read on my hard drive serial number. They will easily be able to tell with the serial number probably because they never put out Western Digital hard drives . They might even be able to tell by just looking at the brand and model of the hard drive because it appears to be stored in the eeprom too.
We shall see....Trying it tonight...
