You won't have to buy a new live kit, you can still use your old gamertag. When you get your new xbox just do account recovery and get your old gamertag. MS bans the xbox, not the account.

So far it seems like the only people that are being banned, are ones that have been banned in the past? I'm still going to wait a few days and see if anyone has or does get banned  even if they have never been banned before.

nope havent been banned, had this box live only for 8 months, just chipped and added 160 gig drive 2 weeks ago, played nba live and madden all weekend and have this wierd saved game file on there too, and no problem as of yet

maybe there some info stored somewhere else not even on the HDD or eeprom

how many people have 128 megs of ram, is there a way for M$ to see that, i would think so and since they know they didnt sell there box like that maybe even if you dant have a mod chip yet but have 128 ram they would ban you, i mean some pop ups you get once in a while tell you you ops sys, ram, ip, what version of explorer you use so much info you think
WTF
QUOTE (Hinotori @ Oct 25 2004, 10:40 PM)
- LPC check if there is anything on there, except for XBOX v1.6.... If there is anyhting in the LPC, well, there is 100% of chance that this XBOX has been modded.... There are modchips that just don't force the XBOX to load the BIOS thru the LPC when they are "off"... But they are on and connected to the LPC bus... So easy to get this one.... I believe this is my second favorite as the reason for people being banned with the modchip "off".

Nope. If the TSOP brokes, M$ can solder a chip onto the LPC with retail bios. These are for example some refurbished consoles.

But one of your theory is frightening me sad.gif. I won't even repeat it. Anyway; it's sure that you will not get banned until you connect to XBL at least once with modchip on. There's no magic in it.

biggrin.gif I've got two xbox.  One modified with excuter 2.3 lite & maxtor 120 gig hd.  The other XBoX is  a virgin... never been modded.
 - I got banned once from live my stupid mistake was playing ESPN not knowing my switch was on.
muhaha.gif Than M$ banned me with a error through my dashboard saying my xbox seems moddified.
 - So I checked the forums for a fix.
 - I heard about the EEPROM fix so I did it.
 - I bought the EEPROM.
 - It worked great!!! for like two months  biggrin.gif  oh joy  But wait there's more!!!

 - I heard about a certain french game on the net.  That I was interested in  wink.gif
 - PS  it is everything I've dream of!!!
 - Anyhoot I felt like signing on live to hand over a can of whup a$$ in Rainbow 6
 - In return I got kicked in the a$$ by M$ again BUT THIS TIME WAS DIFFERENT!
***  The new dashboard error said something about the MTU on my router ***
Ok so I reset my router... Freaking reconfig my sercurity settings to allow maxium transfers... still nothing.
So I went I use my virgin Xbox and got connected with the same gamertag
  - I was confused as all hell!!!
  - After pondering about this for hours I came to a conclusion the New EEPROM that I replaced it with might have been sold more than once causing multilpe problems logging on to Live.

I have a friend who has the same mod and does not plan to go on LIVE I asked if I can use his EEPROM just to check and it looks like am back ON WOOO HOOO!!!

grr.gif SO Beware I think M$ is banning all EEPROM that were replace buy those who purchased their EEPROM.  I think the vendors are re-selling the same EEPROM!!!

I think that it is partially that, but also just those who have have been banned before, are also getting rebanned because M$ has a record of them and are cracking down on those.

When most people have their xbox modded the put a heap of extra files/folders on "C" drive. If M$ are not already doing it wouln't it be easy to simply check for evoX.xbe or .ini file or skins folder the list goes on.

This brings me to this question. If when the XBox is modded and exoV is booted from say"F" drive instead of "C". When the mod is of is "F" drive accesable?

I thought it would not be as it is the chips's bios which makes it accessable and the standard M$ would not.

Any thaughts

I don't think that the F: drive is accesible without the chip on. But I don't think that they are scanning hard drives yet.... becasue a lot of people that have never been banned before ares still not banned and they have the files on C:

I do think that it would be smart to have everything on the F: drive though, so that if ms starts scanning the hard drive, they hopefully wont be able to check the F: drive.

Maybe because of legall reasons in some countries they are not scanning as yet. I hope they don't.

Another reason to put everthing on F is there would be nothing stopping them overwriting files on C drive such as .ini or .xbe just to screw you around a bit. I guess this could be done even via a game in the drive.
