Reasons For Recent Bannings?
« Reply #30 on: October 17, 2004, 04:03:00 PM »

I was banned too. The strange thing is I haven't been on LIVE in a month. I haven't even turn on my Xbox in a month. I strated play the "french leaked pal version of a spicel game" and today when I tryed to sigin to LIVE I was banned.

I have a replaced eeprom.
I have a x2_4981.06 bios, Maxtor 60gig Harddrive, and runing Avalaunch/EvoX. Using X-B.I.T modchip.

I my gamertag is not banned but my Xbox is banned. Because I can still sign on LIVE with my friends unmodded Xbox.

How bout someone make a chip that emulates the stock bios? Since Micro$oft wants to be asses, Im all for returning the favor and keep em in check about who keeps them in business.  WE DO. More and more happens, and I personally feel like I am gettin f'd in the "a" from this billion dollar business.

I remember a while back (6 months or so) reading that MS was collecting hard drive info when connecting to XBOX live but apparently doing nothing with the info. Maybe after the Halo2 incident they decided to fire back and used this previously collected info as a basis for their attack.

sad.gif I've even set up another new account and no luck there.
It must be picking up something other than EEPROM / gamertag information.

V1.0 xbox, xbit chip, 80gb HD, Live account with a password, and the bios that supposedly stops live access

I was playing fifa 2005 (just to tide me over until PES4 comes out smile.gif ) the original version and I was playing on xbox live so the cable was connected.
I was banned a while back because of the auto connect in Rainbow Six 3

my question is, has anyone been banned that was running a live safe bios?  It's the only way to rule out user error completely.  Bans can occur weeks after Live detects your bios, so you never know how the ban happened.

Has anyone been banned that runs a bios that blocks the live ports?  i do, and I haven't been banned.  If no one has, I suspect everyone ran a live enabled game recently and thats what did.  You may say theres too many people at the same time, but the sale of eeproms would indicate alot of people are doing it ALL the time.

I did...I have a smartXX with X2-4981.67

I've been too scared to go on live since I heard about these bannings, as I've got more than 11 months remaining on my subscription and I don't want to have my account cancelled (I only got live for PES4). Seeing as most of the people are using modchips, I think it may have something to do with LPC/d0 activity. That's just my theory.
