I searched through the web and found someone to sell me a eeprom...

Questions - Questions....

I am pretty new to this while thing and I really do not want to mess things up. I have read your instructions on how to put the new eeprom on my xbox, but have a few questions if you do not mind...

I found ltools - do I install it on my PC and then place the files to my xbox, or do I unzip the folder and place the files to my xbox?

My pc currently has a ip address of 192.168.0.2 cos of my wirless router, do I need to hook this directly?

I have searched all over and I cannot seem to find how I lock/unlock my hard drive. I have a xbox 1.6 and also evolution x installed. I would appreciate your help.

1 do you have a modchip or a softmod?
2 do you have slayer 2.6?
3 do you have the original mech assault, 007 or splinter cell?

Depending on what you have there are easier and harder methods.

You can use slayers disk to unlock the HDD

Others have confirmed that the older version of config magic works on a 1.6, I haven't tried it.

You can use any of the above exploits if you don't have a mod chip and are going to use a new HDD and need to re install all your software.

The only Way I have unbanned a 1.6 so far was an EEprom change along with a HDD change.

I haven't tried it any other way.

I will be trying an unbanned 1.4 with a different HDD and different Key next week. (180 HDD went bad so I have no choice to change the drive.  Bummer).

I'll post my results on whether or not it gets banned on another topic since this is a 1.6 thread.

i'm in exactly the same situation I have a 1.6 xbox that is banned and have the xecuter 2.6 mod chip installed.

do i need a specific new hd or will any do?

and will a new hd come with  new eeprom or will I have to get hold of this seperatley?

I have a X3 mod chip. I am just not sure where to go from here. I have been told to dl ltools, i have it downloaded.

How do i run slayers disk on my xbox to unlock my harddrive?

so many questions. i dont want to try anything that will mess things up more.

so the basic question is will getting hold of a new stock unbanend harddisk do the job?

dont worry about a new hdd...while this will work, coupled w/ a new eeproim, it would be better to just get the serial out of an old xbox hdd and use some utility to force it upon your xbox.
because they are banning based on hdd serial, if you change just your hdd, they will check to see if it is a retail serial because your eeprom was previously banned
but, if you chnage your eeprom and your hdd, they will just look at your hdd serial and see if it is banned because your eeprom wasnt banned and your hdd wasnt banned.
