Using Xbox Live And Kai/xbc After A Game Update

Hi,

I am getting Xbox Live in a few days. My Xbox is modded with a Xecuter 2.0 Pro.

The problem is that for example for Top Spin theres an Update on Xbox Live.
So if I install that I wont be able to play against ppl who dont have this update (Kai and XBC players).

So any idea what I can do? Or maybe I could just backup my Top Spin Save files before updating and when I want to use a tunneling software I move these files back? And if that really works, which files exactly should i backup? Are the Save files enough or are there also other files which I shouldnt forget?
