Xbox Live Downloadable Content

Premium content can not be downloaded from a website, and used on Live. It won't work.

Check the Game Hacking board for a topic regarding PGR2 content, but you won't find such content on a website.

Content is linked to the Xbox's EEPROM it was downloaded to, not the gamertag.

I'm sure this has been answered somewhere but I can't find it anywhere...

Is it possible with a flashed, modded xbox to download content for games? If the chip is off and you are just playing normally, can't you download content for games with out it ruining your xbox or getting the bios detected?

.. you can not run a backup with the modchip off. Even if you turn off the modchip, the modified BIOS has loaded, and if you access Live, ban.

This is covered in the pinned topics BTW

I'm just talking if I have the chip off, and stick in good 'ole rainbow six and there is a new map for download. Can I download it without risking harm to any of the data on the xbox?

I was wondering if the following would be possible.

I take my modded xbox w switch for Live to a friends house. I use his live account on my box to download content while making sure I boot M$ dashboard and have switch off. I'm not too sure if you can use a Live account on more than one box though?

Yes, that will be fine. Just use the option in the MS dash to copy the account to a memory unit

If you download content on live, like an extra level for Amped 2, but don't use it on Live, only offline, will it work?

Am I right in saying that there is no way to copy Live content from a friends Xbox onto my Xbox (or off a "Game Saves" type website even) because it needs to be signed to that Xbox?

The only way is to borrow someones account?

Well if the content can be used offline, then I don't see why not.

It depends on what kind-of content it is about FTPing it, but if are able to FTP it, the content will most likely not work on Live.

Yes, borrowing a friend's account and using the game's original is the best way to get content if you are a non-Live subscriber.

Well you could do an account recovery on your box for your friends account, he just needs to put in his info like his address, credit card # etc.

Ok, heres my stupid little theory I have here.
Please dont flame me for it, LOL.
Lets say when you download a level for a game you download it from a website onto your xbox(basically).
Ok, that website is listed in a file that allows you to download the levels. If yoou could change that address to lets say your own website and put your own content therre, maybe it will sign the information for you.
I have yet to experiment with this. If I do, I will keep you guys informed.

Yea that web site is normally the XBOX LIVE servers.  You have to be logged in to LIVE to DL content in almost all if not all cases.  Here is the gist of it. The only ways to get DL content are
1. Official XBOX Magazine was adding content to the demo disc for a while. They have mostly stopped with the exception of save games and maybe one level for some lame title occassionally.  I believe the stopage was due to the fact that M$ does not want non Live subscribers to be able to get the premium content inorder to persuade them into signing for Live.

2. Load a Live account onto the box you want content to go to and just log in with CHIP OFF and an Original version of whatever title and download all the content. It will be signed to that box and available for use. The only thing is that some content is only available in a Live session and not offline or system link.

3. You dont want to load your live account on your friends box for fear that he/she is dumb enough to forget and use it whith the chip ON or try and use it while you are already useing it.  Then here is the solution.  Thie is only a rough overview. I am not writing a tutorial on this.
Get a copy of their eeprom. back up your eeprom, unlock your drive, flash your box with their eeprom. Lock your drive again and note the unlock codes as they will have changed with your friends eeprom installed. Make sure it all works. Go on live and DL what ever you want.  Sae it all out to PC. Now you can  reverse the previous steps to put you eeprom back in the system and lock the drive to it again.
Now you can transfer all the content you downloaded to your friends box as it is encypted with his eeprom data.

Good luck

Oh. BTW.  I am not resonsible if you do any of this and F Up your box. Don't come whining to me and no I will not go into more detail. There is enough there already. Read the forums for info on any of it before you attempt it.
