tsunami my butt!
for now we get voice messaging in the dash, and it only comes through the TV.

it'll be pretty cool when we get clan features but that'll take a while.
rainbow sic 3: black arrow being one of the first... that's coming out in august.

if you press the black button on the controller instead of Y in the network connection settings it saves some sort of network information in to your xbox game save list.

I wonder what it is savig? bet it's the dash test speed info that they took away.

QUOTE (lazarus18 @ Apr 22 2004, 03:27 PM)
So I haven't messed with this too much, but I fail to see the point of this if it works the way I think it does. My friends and I have long wanted a simple voicemail feature, but I'm not sure if this latest update does that.

If I send a chat invite to a friend who is offline, and with that include my 15sec spiel about what game I want to play in 2 hours or whatever, does he get that voice message if I exit the dash? If so that's awesome and exactly what I want. If not I fail to see how 15 seconds of audio are any better than the text you always get which conveys all the needed info. So and so wants to play such and such right now. What else could you add to that?

-Rob

The one thing I liked the voice message thing for is telling someone what level you are playing, type of match, etc. I know for counterstrike it would be nice since sometimes its a map I dont want to play. It kinda sucks it only works on the dashboard though so i probably wont ever use it anyway now.

I know it sucks right now b/c you can't do anything with the voice messaging and its really inconvient; but think about the future. All the future games that are live will allow you to send and recieve voice invites in game......that'll be sooo hot. I hope they have another download that makes it so your invites don't dissappear when you get off line or off a game. So you could say......"Hey [insert GT], i want to play CS in a little while but i gotta eat dinner first". Then they could meet you in 30 min or so. But the way they have it now is it just erases when you leave voice chat or whateva. So that kinda sucks.
