I have XBL set up fine and can play online.. i connect via a crossover cable and when i want to FTP i just plug into my 2nd NIC card etc.. However, after i do this and then want to go back online i connect up to modem again and all my IP settings etc have defaulted to my FLASHFXP ones IE 192.168 etc, sooo i have to manually input all my dns etc again, whats even stranger is my pc MAC address in advanced options is always one character (3rd one along) incorrect and i have to amend.
Now i have seen other posts that suggest to change to Auto for both and i tried this and it wont get past the IP settings stage.. i input all my ip and dns manually and reboot and hey presto im back online... its just a ball ache having to keep doing it. My bro in law is with the same ISP (blueyonder) and he has his set up on auto and hes fine.. he has an unmodded box however.
BTW i run avalaunch and my xbox ver is 1.5
Do i have to keep changing because im on a modded box?
Anyone know how i can save these settings as my xbox seems to switch to its static IP once ive been hooked up to my pc and auto settings will not work.
