If this is your first 12 month subscription then you can't. Besides, you don't have to cancel your account all you have to do is just get another unbanned eeprom and revive your system to play on LIVE. Read the pinned tutourial.

Yes it could.  That is if you are 100% sure that the chip was OFF and has never been ON while attempting to connect to LIVE.  That means that with CHIP ON you never launched a live aware game with a profile tha twas the same as your gamer tag.  You DO not have the AUTO SIGN ON feature enabled in the dash etc..   If you are 100% sure that NONE of these things were the reason then you would need to first figure out what it was that go you banned in the first place. ie.. was it a larger Hard Drive? Was it Content on C: that should not be there as far as M$ is concerned.  Was it that you used a hack in a game and that was detected or someone reported you for using one.  Or was it that you played a game that has not officially been released yet. ie. downloaded SC Pandora Tomorrow or other and a save for it was detected.   NO I AM NOT insinuating piracy.  Just covering the bases for MOD OFF banning. I'm sure there are a few I've missed but those are the ones that come to mind.  Anyway. When and if you are able to determine which if any of these could be what got you banned, you would then need to remedy it before trying to go on LIVE after a flashing a new EEPROM.

P.S.  IF you figure out what the reason was that you got banned please share it with the rest of us.

Good luck.

a friend of mine got banned even though he turn off the chip but I found out he use dvd region free patch before and also TSOP via slayer. He kept insisting that he turn off the chip but later he relaized that any software modification will get him also. So go figure.

Has anyone actually confirmed that they are banning people with bigger Hard Drives, or are they just checking?

There is a (9 pages) pinned topic about that.

To whom got banned with his chip "OFF"... make sure your "Auto Sign In" is turned OFF, that's usually the reason why ppl is getting banned. There is also a pinned topic about how to avoid been banned. Best thing to do if you're no going online is just to unplug your cable from the back of your box... I mean, that'll kill any chances of getting banned.

Get a New eEPROM and you'll be good to go. Try looking for it on the "Buy & Sell" section here.

Good Luck dude.   beerchug.gif

Three easy steps to limit your chance of getting banned by accident.

1) Turn off auto sign in
2) Run X2 4801
3) Put your xbl account on a memory card and only plug it in when you know you want to get on xbl and your sure your mod is off.

BTW I have a 160 G HDD and have not been banned using these measures.
