Problem With Eeprom

hi i obtained a new eeprom today and did all the steps in the tutorial...afterwards i turned off my chip and went into ms dash, but for some reason i am getting th "your xbox requires service" message... when i turn the the mod chip back on it boots up fine... if this is an old question i  apologize, any help would be greatly appreciated
