i think the colermod bios are the problem hear. that would mean he chip isnt compleatly off. that could get you banned but i dont knoe. but the prosses of elmition leads to that. as for the hd check thats always been around and they never banned anyone but maybe they changed that.

as far as the yboxdash.xbe i thought it might've been a file from an xbox-live update of some sort, but it turned out to be another copy of evoxdash.xbe, i dunno why the guy had a copy of it on there or why he renamed it or how it got there or anything, but yea that had nothin to do with it. still haven't figured out how i've been banned twice with my mod chip off though, i'm going to uninstall live take a look at all the shit on the hd and fix it till i'm satisfied, and then try live with a 3rd clean eeprom, i'll let ya know how it goes.

A long, long time ago when cracked BIOS's were first being distributed they were only capable of booting xboxdash.xbe.  Before the advent of new BIOSs that could boot evoxdash.xbe, avadash.xbe and others, the first attempt at booting to a renamed dash was a modified evox BIOS that could boot to yboxdash.xbe instead.

This allowed you to keep your original dash as xboxdash.xbe so you could disable your modchip for xbox live.

It is very possible that MS might be banning on this filename if it's on your C: drive, but I have never heard anyone mention it before.

Flagg

maybe the key would be to move all non ms original files to their f:\ and change the boot order in their bios accordingly, in theory ms cant see f:\ and wouldnt be able to find evox files etc.

Odd problem....... if the eeprom is good and the modchip is off it has to be the hard drive..... What I would suggest would be to wipe the hard drive totally. Then, make a backup of someone else's hard drive and put all that info on your drive.

If that didn't work, then either your modchip is on or the eeprom is bad or set up wrong. I seriously doubt that the eeprom is bad. Very hard to figure out what's wrong without looking at the box personally, tho.

make sure your auto connect is shut off on the ms dash. if not the xbox can communicate with xbox live at any point that the xbox is on and plugged into the internet.
this is also said in the nfo for the 4980/4981 that you must shut off the auto login
