Does It Tell You If Your Banned?

Hmm the EEPROM contains several types on infor right? Like PAL/NTSC and serial and stuff...... it is the serial that is important i guess?

Changing videomode (which would create a different EEPROM) cant do any difference?

Changing PAL/NTSC does not seem to affect the ability to connect to Xbox Live.  I've tried switching my 'box to NTSC, and playing PAL PGR2 using my Australian Xbox Live Account.

Yes it will tell you. A pop up window will say that the system has detected modifications.

If You've Tried To Connect to Live with Modded Games with your Ethernet Cable Plugged In, Your Already Banned.

Start Looking for a New EEPROM.

I thought I was banned, I was getting a similar issue, here's what you should do to check:

If you've gotten onto x-box live before without issues, and still have the original dashboard around, take your mod chip out and try getting onto live. I was getting the problem where it was telling me that I could not connect to x-box live, but when I tried to trouble shoot it connected fine. All I did was take my mod chip out and it worked, now if I go onto live, I unplug my mod chip first. I'm extremely glad that I got a solderless adapter with my chameleon.

UPDATE!!

Looks like I got banned, time to get a new X-Box!

wait so did you get banned since doing this?  I obviously have my modchip off when I try to connect so that shouldn't be an issue.  plus I know I've gotten on before, but I havn't tried in about 3 months.  It never told me I was banned, and when I call for support the xbox live reps don't have a clue I have a modded xbox.  So confused...

Get a new EEPROM. That will solve your problems.

Shanafan is right. There is no need to get a new Xbox. Just get an unbanned EEprom to replace your current one and you'll be online in no time.

Hey

One question:  Do they ban you immediately after connecting with chip on, or could it take a day, a month before they tell you?

a day usually 12 hours or so, I sell eeproms and giving them away in contests in BST thread.  Just use config magic and swap out its a file.

dont you need to solder to replace the eeprom?

If you want to physically replace the EEPROM chip. That is common to get the EEPROM off a dead motherboard.

But, to flash the EEPROM on a working Xbox, just use Configmagic. The tutorial is pinned.
