Can't Connect To Xbox Live After Replacing Eeprom
« on: January 11, 2004, 04:44:00 AM »

bump

does anyone have any info on this besides getting a new EEPROM? i know the EEPROMS i am getting aren't "bad" but something is causing them to not work....

i have yet to find any posts of people resolving this w/o "just get a new eeprom"

might it have something to do w/ serials? like does the new EEPROM need to match my original serial (2xxxxxxxxx)
the ones I got are 3xxxxxxxxxx and 5xxxxxxxxxx?

trying to figure this out! i've already spent $20 on these 2 eeproms and i really don't want to buy more until I know for sure the next will work! Anyone out there care to trade for a low serial # bios I could test?

Thanks

I would suggest fooling with those MACs. Delete them again, and see what happens. You MIGHT even want to reset your router.

However, it might just be the EEPROM. It might be banned  sad.gif

The MAC that ConfigMagic has - is it your old one or your new one? Check the sticker on the Xbox.

Can you ping your Xbox from your computer while it is trying to connect to Xbox Live?

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions. I ended up buying another eeprom from someone else and it worked perfectly the first time.

So what was wrong with the frist eeprom? Did I get screwed? I'm not to mad about the $6, but I bought it from someone who seems to sell them a lot on X-S. If he's selling bad eeproms I would think everyone would want to know.

I have the same problem.

Got myself banned (Prince of Persia or girlfriend hitting modchip switch while Xbox was turned on), got a new EEPROM from a seller in these forums, didn't work so I asked for another and got one (very amiable chap I must say)... but still can't connect.

I even deleted the C: partition, FTPd in an old back-up and reinstalled Live.

It can't connect, and when I troubleshoot it says:

-Cables connected
-IP settings configured
-DNS Resolved
-"Network Error"

W: 0000-000B
X: 0000-F001
Y: 00C2-03E0
Z: 0000-0000

If anyone has any ideas about what I could do, I'd be ver grateful.

Oh, and please PM me the name of the forumite who sold those working EEPROM's... I'm not sure if I dare ask for a third from this same fellow, nice as he was to me.

I have got that message that my xbox is modified. Is it any way to fix my eeprom or do I have to buy something ?. Where do you find guides to fix eeprom ?

You don't fix the EEPROM.. you have to buy a new EEPROM.

Read the pinned topics above.

The only solution for me was to ask the seller for a new one. My seller gave me a thrid one and it worked. Obviously it is eeprom problem not the network.

Ok, thanks. I'll ask for a third one too then.
