that sucks, would be nice to use 2, where is the limit set? i mean do the Live servers only allow 1 per box, or does the game only recognize one, or is it soemthing with the hardware only seeing one?

You can use 1 communicator per xbox live account.  If you have a friend come over and he has an xbox live account on a memory card, and a communicator with headset, aslong as you both have a live account.  So if you have 4 live accounts, you can sign in with all 4 live accounts and with 4 communicator sets.

Where did you hear this? You can not sign onto Live on the same Xbox with 4 accounts. You can have more than one account on your Xbox, but only one can be used at a time. You can, though, have a guest on your account along with your account, but they can not use the communicator.

My friend and I played Mech Assault. I brought my mem card over with my gamertag and my headset. We had seperate gamertags and headsets. So yes you can use seperate headsets. But only if you have seperate gamertags.
