What I mean is what if you simply unplug your ethernet cable when you're connected to live?

Why?

This may be a very stupid question but i got to ask it anyway:  Are there any games that DONT use live but tries to connect to live anyway?  Like NFSU?

Tested it, and works good. Live will ask for the passcode before signing in, in the game.

Will update information.

Ok, so with other words, If passcode is enabled, it is practically impossible to login to live accidently when running a backuped game?

(Because you have to enter the code)

Just thought I would mention that if you backup your Live account to a memory card, and then delete the account from your Xbox, your Xbox will NEVER connect to Live in a manner that could ban your account, and you just need to plug in the memory card to play on Live.  A solution I figured out months ago when Live 2.0 came out, but nobody seemed to take seriously.  smile.gif

And yes, I have tested.  tongue.gif

And btw, I have Live 2.0, run Live-Aware games all the time, and have even clicked on Live tabs in games and the dashboard while mod-chip was on (for testing purposes).  I have been doing it for months now, and I am still not banned, so ....

When you delete the Xbox Live account from your Xbox, it doesn't even matter if you leave auto-connect turned on, because it won't connect to Live in a manner that will get you banned in anyway.  smile.gif

Just did some testing with this.  It works well to prevent Live Aware games from connecting automatically, but it does not actually prevent all Live connectivity.

Even with a passcode set, if you click on 'XBOX LIVE' in the MS dash, it will allow you to select your account, and then enter the Xbox Live main screen (where it shows Friends, Voice Chat, etc.) without asking for a passcode.  So, at this point it must have already connected to Live, which I presume would also mean that you would get banned with a modchip on.

If you have Auto Sign-In enabled, the MS dash will automatically go straight to the Xbox Live main screen without asking you to select an account, or ask for your passcode.  Once again, I presume you would get banned with a modchip on.

Hmm, clever.   biggrin.gif
If the xbox cant find a live profile, it doesnt connect.

But when you really want to connect, does it find the profile on the memory card instantly without having to "choose memory card" or something?

Yes, even with a passcode, it will connect to Live in a manner that WILL ban you, whereas by deleting your Live account from the HD, it will sometimes connect to Live, but in a manner that will NOT ban you.  smile.gif

?

Xbox Live will not delete your account from your Xbox. With the passcode on, in XBox games, Live will not connect until the passcode that is entered is correct.
