I have a version 1.6 Xbox and the M8 Bios, will it prevent me from connecting to Live?

Hi i was also wondering about this because im about to buy xbox live. Someone told me that you should make your gamertag a completely different name from any of your saved games. Is this true.

They also said possibly to move the saved games to the F: Drive where they can then not be seen by MS. Are these true adn necessary?

or do i really just need to:
1) disconnect auto
2) add a password
3) add to mem card and delete of hdd.

Also i was just thinking about this and wondering if this would work?

- My Idea- Whenever you want to play a fake game that risks going to auto connect to live in anyway or even an original but your not planning to go on live. To be extra safe you could pull out the internet cable at the back off the xbox disconecting any way of connecting through the net. Is it just me or might this idea actually work?

Is there a full list of live aware games ? I've looked at the pinned topics, and at www.xbox.com but it seems MS doesn't tag every game that has live aware only those that don't have any live multiplayer/leaderboards/etc.

If you have a flashable modchip, just use X2 4980 BIOS. It will disable Live when the modchip is on. You don't really need to worry about the bottom information at all.

For Xbox Live Aware games, you will have to create a profile for the game.

If this is a backup, and you have Live on your Xbox and using it with the modchip off, do not use your gamertag as your profile for the game. When you do that, the game will automatically connect to Live. Create a profile that isn't the same as your gamertag.

Also, for modded Xbox users with backups with Live compabilities, turn off auto sign-in in the MS dash. If it is enabled, the game will connect to Live no matter what your profile is named in the game.

Of course, a non-Live related profile will allow you to system link with X-Link or XBConnect.

No Xbox games will connect to Live when you load it, unless your profile for the game is the same as your gamertag or auto sign-in is enabled.

Another good idea is to set a Xbox Live pass code for your account. The game will ask for the passcode before signing into Live.
