You can delete:

update.xbe
downloader.xbe
dashupdate.xbe

These XBE are related to Live.

But, your ultimate best bet is to unplug the network cable.

Thanx for the respone so far but maybe i should rephrase what I mean is there any way to mod a box to prevent it from updating automatically or is manually deleting the only way.(say I mod a box for someone else and cant be certain that they will delete the files either because they just dont understand or whatever.)Thanx

Nope, afraid to say that it requires some form of user intelligence not to select the Live tab in a game (Unless the update files are removed manually of course).

just go into your "Live" settings, and change all the info to a bunch of wierd shit. IP: 66.666.66.66 (or sumthing), and DNS #'s all fucked up, and set everything to sumthing wrong

p.s. make sure you access the "Live" tab with your cable unplugged to make sure.

couldnt he just change the name of c:\xodash\xonlinedash.xbe and update.xbe to something else?
