I dont know if this has been mentioned or not, but this "LIVE 2.0" thing hasnt totally be implemented yet.

M$ is techincally calling what we have LIVE 1.7. The full live 2.0 will be released in october (when they give us a few more features like cross game chat, and invites through MSN messager....and all that other extra shit)

The update we all have now was the preliminary update, just to begin the process so they dont have to do it all in one big update, rather they are doing it in 2 phases.

I have an xbox cert on my friends list, and he was telling me all about it last night.

FWIW I tried also couldnt get any where.

I called M$ and they said they were having problems on their end. They also said they were having problems with some of the ISPs. They gave me a number and said to try again the next couple days. If I cant get the update to call back and they would escalate it.

I personally am very glad to even have internet access as Hurricane Isabel did a real number on the area I live in (richmond va)

"We are currently making updates to the new Xbox Live Dash. It is not available for download at this time. If you have already updated to the new Dash, you will still be able to enjoy its new features.

i live in northern virginia... and i can't get the update... is this area specific?

muerte, when you say you can't get the update, what happens? When you load the Live tab in the MS dash, does it just connect to Live like it always did, or does the update stop and Live says try again later?

Same here, but if you look on the xbox.com forums it says that updates can't be downloaded at the moment.

FWIW, I read on another forum that MS is having problems and has pulled the update (as johnfish1 said). That sounds reasonable to me and at least explains why I can't get the Live update. I didn't try until Friday afternoon (9/19).
