I really do think you can not disable the auto log-in. When you go to the option in the dash, it says this:

"Automatically sign-in last used Xbox Live account where possible?"

If you select "no", your XBox will boot the MS dash (not the Live one) and you can go to the Live tab, select your account, and be pretty much INSTANTLY connected to Live.

I think this option is for people in a household with a Xbox that has more than one account.

I may be wrong of course.

shanafan,  So i have a v. 1.0 xbox with original dash..  no xbox live tab at all..  if i pop in a game that can use live it will update me to this new live 2.0 dash?  even tho i dont have a starter kit??

Wow.. wait a minute.  You are saying that even if you don't choose or don't WANT to choose the xboxlive option, that as soon as you turn on the BOX, it will log into M$ and update?

That's amazing!  How can they do that without even giving you an option?

And Shanafan, I think you do have the solution.  Just like the old krakendash method, we need to install an old xboxdash with a different name, and make sure that EVOX links to that one.  Keep the new one with native name so that when chip is off, it loads.

MXM users need to be sure to not let the automenu give the new dash as an option.

Isnt there a way to password protect a dashboard...if you have EvoX dash..or MXM...or AVA...as your default dash when booting with modchip enabled?.....Rather than deleting XBOX DASH from my MXM settings...I would rather put a password on it so that it isnt launched accidently?

And also...is there a way to give XBL a specific IP...and the changing the IP settings within the FTP of what ever dash you are using...or the X2 BIOS...so that if you do launch XBOX DASH....and XBL 2.0 connects...it will use the IP assigned to it..rather than connecting when connected to FTP....shyt i may be confusin yall...i know what i wanna ask...but dunno how to ask it....if sum 1 understands.... lemme know whats up!!

Because when you select the Live tab on the old dash, you get the flashy Live intro screen, and then you are at the main Live screen with the three options. It connects to Live to get these options during that intro.

It will connect to Live, notice it needs to get the update, and boom.

But you still have to CHOOSE the XBOXLIVE feature from the dash to get the update, correct?  There is no way the boxes could automatically know to go on and download the new dash.

Yes.

The Starter Kit is what you need to create a Xbox Live account, because it has the unique key inside. And, Live game demos too.

I have 1 BIG question before I boot up xbox LIVE, and DL this......

I use the 007 audio hack, so to access evox/mxm...etc I put in an audio CD, and click copy. Will this still work after I get 2.0? If not.....what the hell am I supposed to do?

Heh, yup. No connection to the Web in the old dash, then it won't know there was an update. But, I think you figured that out for yourself
