Okay... In short:- Disable modchip
- Go LIVE! and get the update
- When the update is complete, go to settings and disable the "auto-login" option.
- When modchip is enabled: NEVER select the LIVE tab.
This should work for everyone, I guess. Though most will probably use EvoX, AvaLaunch, MXM etc. with the modchip enabled. So I guess
the regular M$ dashboard (v2) will not be visited that often. As in, the risk is even lower.
But here are my two cents:Why don't we ONLY use a
hacked M$ dashboard with the modchip enabled... So, enable mod, power on XBox, use replacement dash like AvaLaunch and when needed use hacked Non-LIVE M$ dashboard. That's the safest option of all!!
BTW: I've got a 40gb IBM HDD installed and ALL non-M$ files are located on my F: drive (I boot from F). With the modchip disabled they could scan as much as they want, they'll NEVER find anything because the regular BIOS has no F: drive support.
EDIT:I guess they could find out even with all my files on the F: drive. How? They could see that my PAL XBox has NTSC saves (and even JAP saves)....
