Someone here had a moddified ghost recon save and they was thought they got band but when he erased the save, he was unbanded again.

So relax, they not scaning hard drives. at lease not yet.

But I think a program to scan your hard drive would have to be installed on your system to work, I dont think they can legally search your hard drive from the internet (live).

I know one way they can do it but I not going to say because they read these boards too.

What? They had a hacked Ghost Recon save file, got banned from Live, they erased the file from their Xbox, and then got unbanned?

All I want to add to this thread is

Any "software" that could be downloaded to the xbox to "scan" files, would only see whats on the "e" drive. With out a HACKED BIOS, there is no way for US, or THEM to see ANYTHING ON THE F DRIVE.

what would be the big deal if the dash tries to connect to live as soon as you turn your xbox on?  I mean it would only run the ms dash if you mod chip was off so you wouldn't be banned.  and if modchip on you'd be loadin evox or mxm etc so nothing could log on to live unless you wanted it to at that point...
I mean it would make for a lot more "mistakes" of people getting banned but if thats all they do then its not so bad.

Yeah, but what happens when you load a Live game? MS acts like this Live games will always be online when you are playing them, even offline. Does the connectivity carry over from the dash...questions that need answering, but won't be answered till the dash comes out

so that means theres going to be service through all your games hmm thats strange.. if i was suppose to play halo and xbox live was searching for it that means we would still be connected to the dash in someway.. if im right (hopefully) then backups should work with the modchip on because maybe when you put a cd in and load it on the msdash and when the MS title appears under the logo it probably detects live then and when you use evox or w.e dash it wouldnt know to detect for live.. probably wrong but all i know is that ill be doing a little HD swapping for a while

Hey all,

Trying to figure out if any changes have been made already to the live front end yet or if the kid staying with me got me banned by not paying attention to what I told him over and over not to do.

I am banned now and he says he didn't mess up.  Is it possible m$ has pushed down new live features yet?

Thanks,

Thanks ED7

That is what I thought but wanted to make sure after reading some of the latest posts here with some people claiming to of been mysteriously banned.

So I just need to go buy a new xbox and can use the same live account or get a hold an eeprom?  Anyone know a place that sells eeproms?  If that information can not be posted please message me.

Thanks,

Personally I would go buy another Xbox if you can afford to and use that one specifically for Live. Save you the hassle of trying to get another EEPROM (Unless you have a friend with a modded box who never uses live in which case convince him to let you use his EEPROM).

That way you will never have to worry about getting banned. All you have to do is perform the Account Recovery on the new box and there you go.

If I already used the account recovery once after I did th switch mod, can I use it again if I get a new box, and are we even sure we need a new box yet, won't we be able to do something with the new dash so people with a locked hd and switch will be ok?

Yes, you can do Account Recovery as many times as you want.

About the new dash, we really do not know. If you want to play a Live-enabled backup, will it connect to Live at the main menu "behind the scenes"?

This stuff we do not know.

Your best bet is don't access Live after the update so we know what to expect.

what is the exact date of live 2.0?

From Xbox Live.com...

Mid-September (probably will get a message in Xbox Live shortly before the update to make the users aware)
