I seriously doubt it.  There is going to have to be a opt out option.  If not this will be a serious privacy issue AND unauthorized use of someone's paid for service.  MS DOES NOT HAVE THE AUTHORIZATION TO USE SOMEONES BROADBAND SERVICE WITHOUT THEIR CONSENT PERIOD!  Simply purchasing an appliance, an xbox for example, or game is not an authorization or consent.

If MS is going to use my broadband when they feel like it while I am playing my xbox are they going to help cover the monthly cost of it?  I will expect them to.

Also....I got these off of Teamxbox.com. TXB is an independent website, meaning...they have no affiliation with MS. They somehow got a copy of the new dash and got to check it out (noteL the gamertags in the pics are all TXB gamertags). I bet if some of you guys emailed them from their website, and just kinda asked like you were curious about the technical aspects of the dash....I bet they would tell you. Even better yet....I am going to add both of those gamertags to my friends list, and see if i can find them online, and ask them about it

yea, but I what I think M$ has been proposing, is to have your dash connect to LIVE whenever you turn your xbox on, which would be a nuisance. I know a while back someone proposed the idea of just keeping your LIVE account on a memory card, and delete it off your xbox HDD. Then you will login to LIVE when YOU want to, and not when m$ wants you to.

But...all we can really do is hold our breath and wait with fingers crossed, hoping that m$ isnt hell bent screwing modders

I HAVE heard rumors that MS is already implementing their new LIVE features. right now, and they will just add the cosmetics to it in mid sept.

How exactly did you get banned? did it tell you that you were banned? or can you just not login to LIVE now

Prophet210 what chip do you have?  It'd be nice to know just in case it was an older chip or an lpc mod simply fitted with a switch on the d0 line.  

Also, do you have evox or other software on your hd?  if so ...which partition?  Do you have an upgraded hd?

There was no Xbox Live update on the 25th. The only "update" that has been told about was the downtime on Live on August 14th when MS was updating their TOS.

Don't use Live after the update to know what has happened.

Yes, you can still FTP to your Xbox without connecting to Live...

I'm sick of seeing all these people complaining about getting banned with their chips off when they don't even have the cajones to call MS when they're likely either...
