Is It Possible To Play Xbox Live W/o The Kit?

actually it is somewhat possible.
XBox Connect
this isnt actually xbox live but it tricks your xbox so the xbox thinks youre playing system link but you can play online(but not on the live servers)

xlink kai is the same thing. It's got multiplayer capability, but you're still missing content download and the likes.

XBConnect and X-Link are not related AT ALL with getting XBox Live for free. They use the system link capabilities of games, not the Live capability. Not all games have system link.

jeez this new thing doesnt mean everything you can imagine is possible. dashboard exploits and forging live accounts have nothing to do with eachother whatsoever. how did you even put those two together?
