You were making sense up until the losing money part. I wish people could just leave these "backups" arguments on the general board or some other place where discussions like these are meant for. People come to this specific board for help with a problem, not to be yelled at because they have backups. Yes, some people think backups are wrong and causing MS to lose money, but you have to remember us modders are like less than 5% of the Xbox gaming public.

Alright, after much research and hard work, I have found a way to play backups on live. There are three main steps you must follow to accomplish this:

1. Raid Micro$oft headquarters
2. Steal the game private key
3. encode this key to your backups

If you follow these three ease steps, bang!, you're on live with backups!

If you have a backup, why don't you just use your original?

Yes Alkane, you are very right..  The TSOP is flashed.
M$ will always be able to detect if your xbox is tempered with.

Believe me... this isn't something we should want. If you could use
'backup' games, there would be cheaters all over the place (using patched .xbe's).

we're not talking about flashing the TSOP, we are talking about loading a backup, as opposed to Linux, then running Live off that backup.

I'm pretty sure you wouldnt be able to connect to someone using a Patched XBE because of Invalid Checksums...
