i agree, as nice as it would be to not have to worry about forgetting to turn off the chip, one of the great things about XBL is that no one can cheat, and about MS being lenient, i agree, there is no way someone can convince me that MS doesn't have the technology to nab your ip, and scan your hdd.

I voted for Xlive being hacked.

Maybe Iv been on Linux to much lately but what I thought of when I did this was not hacking Xbox live so we can play on MS network but to hack up some code to emulate Xbox live so we can run our own servers.

I don’t know, I think it would be fun to run an Xbox live server.

Yeah the emulated Battle Net servers were fun ;)

I enjoy this Xbox scene too much to see it die out because of some reckless hacking.

That would be cool. I'd rather not see a bunch of people hacking on Live though, especially with the lack of administrative commands when hosting games.

The bandwidth requirements on the server side alone would pretty much make emulating the Xbox Live service impractical.  XBconnect is probabbly all we'll see.

I agree with the banning of the EEPROMs though, it at least slows down tests and hacking on the Xbox Live servers.  It can get annoying though.  I've personally been through maby seven of them.
