I have an xbox from launch with a PCBIOSXX (eject turns off my chip) w/ evox 2.5.ybox BIOS and the newest EvoX Dash. I also have the original HD. I bought live around christmas and since day 1 I have not been able to install it it gives me a "DIRTY DISC ERROR" I have flashed my chip with about 5 different BIOS's taken off evoxdash and tried, restored my C and E drives to the factory settings, and still get it. Can anyone please help me? I have been trying this since christmas lol (So you can undersatand how bad this is frustrating me).

It Says "LIVE UPDATE FAILED PLEASE CHECK IF THE DISC IS DIRTY OR DAMAGED"

You say you have ybios but is your dash yboxdash.xbe? If it is are you shure the original files for the MS dash are still in the correct locations? If both answers are yes I would say you just got a bad live disk.

Yea on my C: drive I have yboxdash.xbe, xboxdash.xbe, and evo.ini then a skins folder the rest I have not messed with. I know my chip enable/disable is working b/c when I power up with the chip, it loads to ybox dash, plus its a color mod. When i boot up with eject it loads the original dash. Can live somehow detect that I have a chip, and thats why its doing it?

this happened to me whenever i treid updating from the game mechassault. but when i tried unreal championship's dashupdate.xbe, it worked fine. just try updating w/ game or soemthi'n instead.

Ill try that, but I dont even have live installed, Its lthe live disc thats giving me the error,
I tried it and still got the same message with both mechassault and UT2003

I have no clue why this is doing this, but It must be something I have done because the same thing that happens when I run the live Disc, happens with mechassault and UT2003. I guess I am going to have to resort to not having XBOX Live if no one knows what may be causing this message. I read all these posts about people with my chip having no Live install problems, and dont understand why mine wont work. Everything is in the right place, and my chip is disabled.
