Hd Locking For Live
« on: January 17, 2003, 01:16:00 AM »

Ok, also if I flash the d6 bios onto my openxbox, I heard that the eject to original bios function doesn't work anymore.. Is that true?

I don't need to know about the switch on d0... I will only need that if I have a version 4 openxbox... I know about the version 4 vs. version 5 problem, and I will check which version I have later.. I mainly want to know about the d6 bios killing the modchip disable, if I can play xblive with a locked 120GB drive, and if configmagic's lock function is all I need..

Yes, you need a locked HD to play on Xbox Live. Install a switch on your modchip. When the modchip is switched off by any method, the original BIOS boots and the original BIOS wants a locked HD

Wicked, wait a sec. With the OpenBox, you hit reset first and the original BIOS loads?

Oh I see, glad I got my Matrix. I used to have an X-ecutor1 without a switch, and when I upgraded to the Matrix, I never knew about the whole Live/modchip thing because I got it before the chaos. Glad I got it now!

wicked, yeh looking your drive with config magic is the safe way to do it.  That should remove the error message on the eject button startup.  Then all you need is a switch!
