Well, according to my FAQ I posted here that contains all this information to limit on the amount of similiar posts here, yes, your HD has to be locked to play with the modchip off. No, they won't search your HD to find "illegal" software.

Since you are avoiding my FAQ here....

To play on Xbox Live, your modchip has to be off. So when you boot the Xbox with the modchip off, the original BIOS will load. The original BIOS wants a locked HD.

So, when you use original games to play on Xbox Live with the modchip off, you can go ahead and download content.

If you didn't replace your hard drive and are using the original one that came with your Xbox, it should already be locked so you don't have to worry about it.

Thank rAph beerchug.gif

So I, don't need to lock the original hard drive from the xbox
it will auto lock the original hard drive from the original xbox bios, went ever i Disable the mod chip.

and only, who with the replacement Hard drive "will need" to Lock the hard drive.

am i right?

if so "shanafan" what was you saying that my "HD has to be locked to play with the modchip off." ? as i was saying "if I didn't replacement Hard Disk"  uhh.gif

The original HD is already factory locked. There is no auto-lock on the Xbox. If you use a replacement HD with Xbox Live, it has to be locked.
