Don't count on it. MS owns and runs Xbox Live. To put things very short, if were figure out how to beat MS's protection against modchips on Live, MS will just change the system and stop that method from happening too. We can't beat MS on this level.

I agree with you but couldn't we emulate the
xbox live servers just like pvpgn emulates
blizzard's battle.net. This would seem to me
to be a very interesting project, do you know
if anybody is working on this?

by switching on or off you are switching the bios you load (ms bios or your hacked bios).  the modded bios will load evoxdash if that is your dash for example and the stock bios will load xboxdash.  you can have all your dashes on the hdd.  Just if you want to play live you need to have the stock bios loaded.

You need to install a switch on to your Matrix, unless you want to continously open the XBox and change the dip switches.

What does this mean exactly?  My xbox has to be banned before I swap a hd?  I'm confused!

It means that, if your banned, putting in another HD will not unban you since the EEPROM is on the motherboard.

Only if the EEPROM was the same on all the Xboxes.. that is a way, but it's not the best way.

shanafan, thanks for all your help. i already have a chip installed on my box and i can play live by turning the chip off and using a retail game. I wanted to know, u said there was a way to play copied games on live using certain chip that boots while off i just wanted to know, what kind of chip does that. im intrested in purchasing

So let me get this straight, i can't play the burned games on my x-box, even with the mod chip turned off, i must have the actual copy of the game.....

Yes. You need the original to play on Live, with the modchip off. Not sure where your confusion is..

Is there a way of randomly creating an EEPROM or editing an origional EEPROM (using config magic or something) to get back on to Live if you were banned?

And also what does EEPROM stand for and/or mean?
