No, locking your HD does not prevent access to your drives. Locked, and you will still have access to everything.

I really haven't made much of an effort to follow up with it. But, I will say you are risking quite a bit because if you or your friend screws up with going online with the modchip on, both of you will be banned.

I was banned from live because my friend was stupid , got another EEprom and in one day banned again. what am I doing wrong . I have a xemium and only get to the ms dash through the selection on the chip.

could it be becase you can see the apps in the menory section of the M$ dash?
could it be that I bought a bad Eprom?

I'm having the same problem. I've been through 3 EEPROMS!!!!! I ONCE used the mechassult lunix boot hack to run evox, and backup a game. While running the backup I inadvertantly hit "sign into xbox live", and was then banned. So I got a new eeprom from a friend, and deleted everything I could find related to what I had done. It worked for 2 days, then I was banned again. Got another eeprom, again worked for a couple days, then banned again. I think with the new Xbox's (Halo Green) there is some hidden file somewhere on the harddrive that can tell if a modded bios has ever been run. No matter what I do I always get banned again. Looks like I'm gonna have to buy a new xbox if I ever want to get on live again.

I don't know if anyone has posted the same question but I've got a classical homebrew mod with a 512k eprom and switch. I've programmed it with evox2.5 and original bios. If I switch to original bios, can I play xbox live? Thank you!

Let me see if I understand correctly it is not possible to play backup games,
when you want to play live. Because the modchip has to be disabeld.

Are there tutorials how to install a switch for your modchip.

The Matrix have dipswitches on it so you can disable it. But, you can also install external switches on it to make it easier to switch modes without opening the Xbox up.

ALright i am sry because you have probably answered my question somewhere in the past or someone know how to do this...

"alright i was trying to get my Xbox onto XBOX live...it kept saying that soemthing was wrong i cant remember and then is said that i didnt have room for the XBOX Live update and the lady on XBOX Live tech support told me to delete some extra stuff from my C: and umm.... i think E: drives...i accidently deleted the normal stuff like my backrounds and the setting part that allows me to get access to XBOX Live...can i somehow get it back from another friends normal XBOX by connecting them and copying his file from C: and E: or what do i have to do to be able to play XBOX LIVE?

I dont know what type of a mod i have....sry... i know it is blue inside the XBOX when it is on...i know i have like a 250gig HD (i think) and like 60 saved XBOX games and every emulator possible on my XBOX...CAN SOMEONE HELP ME PLZ?

alright thnx...is this already on my XBOX or do i have to search for the xbox.zip thingy as mentioned above...actually i didnt confirm this to XBOX tech support that my BOX is moded by the way because she told me to try deleteing stuff from my memory...and i accidentally deleted everything after i was on the phone with her
